Official Rules for The Staradio Comedy Contest 2011

7/21/11 – Clayton’s Tap in Morris
7/29/11 – Traditions in Watseka – Only Friday Competition!
8/4/11 – The Big Kahuna Steakhouse & Tiki Bar in Aroma Park
8/11/11 - The Department in Joliet
8/18/11 – Hammers Sports Bar in Joliet
8/28/11, 9/4/11, & 9/11/11 – The Comedy Shrine in Fox Valley – All Sunday
9/16/11 – Finals at The Quality Inn and Suites in Bradley

Competition is open to anyone 21 years of age or older.

During the open competition weeks each comedian will perform 5-8 minutes of material and may only perform once per event.. Each week a finalist will be named, based on voting done by the audience. Any comedian not named as a finalist may perform at the following week’s competition unless specifically denied by Staradio. Comedians will be judged each week by the audience picking the 2 best comedians of the night. In the event of a tie in votes, Staradio reserves the right to name both as finalists for the evening.

The order of performance will be picked in a random fashion each week of the open competition weeks by a Staradio representative. Those comedians that pre-register will perform earlier than those that register the night of the competition. Staradio reserves the right to limit the amount of comedians performing in a night due to time constraints. The open competition nights at Comedy Shrine will be limited to 10 comedians.

The Finals will take place on Friday September 16, 2011 at The Quality Inn and Suites in Bradley, IL. Each comedian will perform 8-10 minutes of material in the finals. In the finals, performance order will be picked at random.

Any contestant guilty of distracting or heckling any of the other comedians while they are performing shall be disqualified.

Any contestant guilty of starting any confrontation with any of the audience or other contestants shall be disqualified.

Any contestant found damaging equipment shall be disqualified.

Any decision that rule breaking, listed or unlisted, has taken place and disqualifications are needed, are at the discretion of the Staradio representative onsite and are FINAL! Staradio reserves the right to remove anyone from the competition for any rule listed or not listed that Staradio deems broken.

Each contestant grants STARADIO the express consent to use his/her name and likeness in any promotional material STARADIO sees fit.

Contest winner is responsible for taxes on said prize.
